FS105 switch died

The MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) is a calculated statistical number. Of course, it can give some ideas about the expected lifetime however. Some devices can last always "forever" while others can fail during warranty, after a few years, while some can last decades. Factors are the environment (temperature, humidity, condensation, power availability/continuity/voltage/overvoltage e.g during thunderstorms, user behavior like on/off cycles, and many more).
The MTBF number is used for risk of failure calculations of complete networks for example.
Any input on the manufacturing date or how to determine it?
Kindly send me through PM the SN of your switch, I might be able to check with that. FS105 was release around 2000s.
