Switch to NAS
I want to connect a poe reolink camera (Duo 2) through a poe switches (GS108PP) into a syntology nas system (DS920+). Question I have is can i completely turn off any power out of the switch port to connect to the nas..... Or does the switch automatically recognize that the nas has no need for power generated through the switch...Or will it harm the nas in doing so?
That's the beauty of industry standard IEEE PoE devices: There is no power supplied unless there is a PD (powered device) connected requesting to supply PoE power.
Keep in mind the GS108PP is an unmanaged switch.
