dummynxdomain.test

I am using OpenDNS to provide DNS services for our Netgear ProSafe™ Gigabit Dual WAN SSL VPN Firewall FVS336Gv2.  As part of this, I noticed that "dummynxdomain.test" was the most frequently requested domain name at OpenDNS.  Working with OpenDNS, we discovered that a network device is attempting to connect to that domain approximately 2,850 times per day.  By disconnecting devices etc., it appears that the Netgear Prosafe is the device that is contacting that domain.  I then added that domain to the Prosafe's blocked list, but the connection attempts continue.

I searched the Internet and this site for this domain name and couldn't find anything.  OpenDNS says the ".test" domain is reserved for documents and testing.  Has anyone else run into this issue?

    Hi Janick2,

Is the device up to date? If it is and the issue still persists, I will advise you to try to contact support and create a ticket for this problem.

    Kind regards,

I just checked the firmware and it is up to date (4.3.3-5).  I'm running a test today by having almost everything turned off on our network to see how many dummynxdomain.test domain DNS requests post today.
