FVS318N Help!
Hello, I need help! i'm trying to conect a Qsee dvr for remote access but for some reason i can't open port 80 on the router, any sugestions? I've been stuck with this for a couple of days and i real...
Assuming that you are using NAT to share a single WAN ip between several devices, what you need to do is not open port 80, but forward it to the DVR's internal ip address.
First - is the DVR configured for a static ip address? If it is, make sure that you have a default gateway entry configured. If it's not, make sure you are using a DHCP reservation.
Second - make sure the DVR is accessible at the local LAN ip address.
Now to forward the port - select the security/firewall tab of the FVS318, and add an inbound service - select http, allow always and enter the address of the DVR and click apply.
Finally - test from OUTSIDE your network - make sure you know the correct public ip address to use - get it from the status page of the FVS318 - and make sure it is a public address, because if your modem is a modem/router and the FVS has a private address that yill cause you problems.
