Printing segregated to VLAN by itself

The printer is a network printer set to DHCP
When on the default LAN (VLAN id 1) it picks up the default gateway of that LAN subnet
When i couldnt get any of the VLAN members to ping it (or print to it) & put it on its own port (in its own VLAN), the printer picks up the default gw of that VLAN subnet.
