WAC564 disconnecting and configuration taking forever

Hello,

I am currently running the WAX610 with no issues - in Root Mode.

I added the WAC564, put it Extendor Mode - finally configured (took 30-45 minutes).

Everything was working great - devices connected to either the 610 or 564 accordingly, per the topology view.

Plugged Ethernet cable to WAC564 - needed to add my SONOS speaker to the network.

SONOS joined the network, no issues. Disconnected the ethernet to the SONOS, as this was no longer needed and was now on the network.

At some point, the WAC564 became disconnected.

This happened previously, as well, when ethernet from WAC564 was connected to laptop.

What am I doing wrong?

THank you!!!

    Hi mjolive99

Are you saying once you remove the ethernet still you are seeing WAC564 still shows disconnected? How long it stays in disconnected state? How often you do see this issue?

Please send us the diagnsotic logs from both APs? Use google drive or any similar to upload logs. Send me link via PM.

    Thanks,

    Raghu

      Hello Raghu,

Correct, I can't tell you exactly when it goes to disconnected. The router did update my Sonos speaker and it was on wireless network within a seconds/minutes (per the Sonos App).  The Sonos unit I have is different in the sense that you can't simply connect to wireless network through the app - you must plug one of the speakers into the ethernet port of the router to complete the setup. I then disconnected the speaker and ethernet, which left all the 564 ports empty again. Things seemed to be fine.

      >>>>actually, about an hour later into using the Sonos speaker it cut out while playing.  I would guess this is when the 564 went down, I didn't think anythign about it until now. I refreshed the Sonos app, it connected and was back up...now I'm thinking Sonos re-connected to the 610 wireless signal and not the 564, so that's why it began to work again. Sonos was now downstairs, closer to the 610 signal.

I was not aware at this point that the 564 was 'disconnected', because the WAC564 is upstairs serving the 'office', since the laptop was not in use at that time - all other devices were connected and working through the WAX610.

This morning, the laptop was still connecting to the 564, however, no internet. Tried to reconnect to the SSID, but still no internet when connecting. Insight app showed it as disconnected. Insight app, did not allow me to reboot. I rebooted manually and it was still disconnected when it came back up, it was there but Insight could not access it (i think white/blueish slow blink). Turned it on and off and came still back as disconnected. Finally, did a hard reset and added it back to the network, took about 45 minutes for it configure and reconnect. It's up and running now, but pretty sure if I plug somethign into the ethernet port(s) on the 564 it will go down again.

Both the WAX610 and WAC564 are connected DHCP IP 192.168.1.160 .....I'm not good with IP and MAC settings, so I have not played around with this. The 610 is connected as Root Only - I put it in this mode. The WAC564 reconnected today as Mesh Mode "AUTO"...previously I had put it 'Extender Only'. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Per my orginal post, this was similar to when I directly plugged the laptop to ethernet port (during the orginal install a few days agao). The 564 went down. So I did the same process, got the 564 back up and didn't bother with the ethernet since the 564 is right next the laptop. Was feeling good that everything was working properly, until last night did not have any reason to plug anything into one of the ports.

I will try to figure out how to pull the logs.
