WAX620 band issues

I am trying to setup new wax620. it comes default to 802.11ax. i tried setting the radios to 802.11ng and 802.11ac to do some testing. all clients will only connect on 802.11g and 802.11a not 802.11ng and 802.11ac which is the first issue. I tried dozens of clients. Then, upon reverting to 802.11ax, clients are all still stuck on 802.11g and 802.11a whereas before they were using 802.11ng and 802.11ac and 802.11ax without issue, not a single one will connect to 802.11ac, 802.11ng, or 802.11ax (Again, tried dozens of clients).
