WAX630E Very poor IPv6 performance
Hi All, My WAX630E is not playing well with IPv6. Lots of TCP retransmissions for traffic coming through the WAX630e when IPv6 protocol is used, IPv4 traffic comes through the AP just fine. ...
- Beta firmware has definitely fixed the slow IPv6 performance.
Hopefully Netgear will incorporate this fix in their next release.
Big thanks to to Tomasz from Netgear support team for excellent support and updates, his bosses should definitely give him as pay rise as workers like him give a good impression for the company.
This morning I did some more testing and when device is connected to SSID on WAX630E which uses default VLAN IPv6 traffic runs at full speed.
So performance issue and TCP retransmissions is happening only on VLAN SSID's.
Found out from the NETGEAR Support Team that you have already an ongoing support ticket with them and it has been escalated to the higher tier. You may want to post the progress of your support ticket.

- Opened ticket with Negate support.
- Ticket acknowledged very fast by Netgate (within the hour).
- Higher tier engineer has taken on the case and has requested logs, activation of reverse ssh to Netgear servers, and packet capture.
- Awaiting feedback 26 Oct 22
- Still awaiting feedback 27 Oct 22

IPv4/IPv6 dual stack on all my VLANS
Problem:
Multiple SSID on my access point with multiple vlan
IPv6 traffic on any vlan other than the default "vlan 1" is limited to 40-60 mbps.
IPv4 traffic on all vlan's is working just fine, not throughput limitation

- Feedback provided from netgate that issue has been reproduced and they are investigating the root cause 2nd Nov 22

- Feedback provided from Netgear that issue has been reproduced and they are investigating the root cause 2nd Nov 22
- 8th November, feedback from Netgear that root cause of bug is fixed in beta firmware. I have installed beta firmware and confirm that on first impression that bug no longer exists, will try for a few days longer to check for stability.
