- Apr 26, 2023No I don't have access to the room the router is in. I am a tenant in the house so I can connect and have admin access to the network but the router is in the landlord's apartment. I came up with a work around using a wifi extender with a network port to connect the ap to. The router/modem is a docsis 3.1 cable modem router(coda-4589). What cables?
You mean you can't plug things into the mains electricity circuit?
To use the WAC104 as an AP, as it was designed, you can use a Powerline plug next to the router. (I assume that you have access to that.)
You plug the Powerline plug into a mains socket near the router. Then connect plug and router with an Ethernet cable.
You then plug another Powerline plug into a mains socket near where you want to use the WAC104. Then you connect the WAC104 to the Powerline plug with an Ethernet cable. The WAC104 then covers the area with WiFi.
Did you ever tell us what the router is at the heart if your network?
Did you investigate the bit in the manual about WDS?
