XR500 strict mat type and high ping

So I just bought a CM1000 and a XR500, I went through the YouTube videos set it up. I have 1GB and I use it mainly for my ps4(Ethernet); however, when I go to test connect I get like 250Down and 8-9upload!!! Ever since I upgraded to netgears I was surprised to find out that the experience is worse. All my game take long loading log in times and most games where previously I would have 20/30 ping now run at 80-90. Now I do play a lot in EU and I used to have 130-140 but now 250-300 like what is going on? And my NAT IS always red for some kind of reason!
