No, there is no rule. You have to know the right article. There is only one little rule: it is 'das Sauerkraut' since it is 'das Kraut'. That means if you have a compound word the last one is the one that determines the article. Just a little lesson for the next time :wink:

But with english words, especially abbreviated once, we are orienting us at the translation. And storage could be translated into different terms. It would be better if we would translate NAS to a german term. But usually we don't do this since those words are too long and often they don't are that clear anymore.
