SXK80 router and satellite BAD connections

I have situations where devices bypass the satellite and connect poorly to the router all the way accross the office. Same situation in reverse where devices bypass the router 15 feet away and connect poorly to the satellite. 

Tech support has not been able to resolve this. 

I'm starting to think maybe this is a defective system?

I've tried all setups, moved the satellite several times, but nothing solved this problem. 

Any input would greatly be appreciated.
