SXR50 tagged VLANs for SSIDs and AP mode
Hi, I'm trying to setup my SXR50 in AP mode to work with a managed TP-LINK switch to have 3 SSIDs available for HOME, STAFF and GUESTS. Each of these SSIDs would have a tagged VLAN. So: 1) I con...

Is not an Orbi requirement, its the concept of vlans. Imagine each Vlan as separate LAN with a different network range. The benefit is that you can use a single port or switch to manage several networks. I forgot to mention that the ports connecting the firewall to the switch and the switch to the Orbi must be configured as Trunks.

I think you missed the firewall configuration. DHCP must be configured for each vlan.

My DHCP server is a netgate and I never configured VLAN on my netgate.
Why I need configure VLAN to use VLAN on my SSIDs ?- hermesromerorJan 27, 2023Apprentice
You never configured VLAN on the netgate because you were not using Vlans. Each vlan you are creating at the Orbi are separate networks, for example: 192.168.1.x /255.255.255.0 , 192.168.2.x /255.255.255.0, etc etc. Each of those networks needs a DHCP server. So what you should do is to vlan tagging until the netgate and there assign the network for each VLAN.
