Well............................ this  is an awkward situation.  Notice the design of the Netgear page describing Armor at:

The graphic in the upper left of the page looks almost identical to the graphic in message 1 of this conversation:

The Netgear page offered a chance to talk to a Concierge (Jerico), who told me that "Yes, sometimes customers are offered promotions."

I also found a comment on Reddit yesterday saying this is "valid" (but I cannot seem to find it again today.)

So, I have no idea whether this is a real offer or a SCAM.
