I'll bite. How, exactly, did you use an SB6121 _without_ using an
Ethernet cable?

One Ethernet cable is much like another. There's nothing very
special about "the ethernet cable supplied with the CM1100".

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation. Get the User Manual (at least). Read.

The usual easy way to configure a cable modem these days is to
connect a computer to it, and use the ISP's automatic scheme.

If that's inconvenient, then I'd guess that you could call Comcast,
and read the MAC address from the modem label to the agent.

router's WAN/Internet port, then what can't you just move the end of

that cable from the router to the computer?
