Changed Router- Will Security Still Work?
I have used both Bitdefender and NETGEAR as security for my Orbi WiFi network in the past. Our internet changed and they required we use an eeros mesh system. Will NETGEAR continue to protect my computers and iPhones using the new router? My subscription is coming due in January and I want to know if NETGEAR Security will still protect my devices.

Armor is only supported on NG systems.
Whos the ISP?

Nearly all Internet Service Providers (ISPs) these days provide a WiFi router system when they install. And they often infer that the customer must use it (or at least strongly encourage the customer to do so). Amazon may have offered the ISP a "good deal" on eero because it may lead to future purchases when customers want to expand their WiFi system, or even providing a nudge into the Amazon Eco-system. It might be worth a few minutes searching the ISP web site for things like
- compatible WiFi routers
- using customer routers
At the very least, the existing Netgear system could just be connected to the new eero router as customers have been connecting their WiFi systems to routers provided by every other ISP for years and years.
There is nothing wrong with the eero product. Like Netgear, eero offers security features at additional cost.
If you do decide to dump the existing Netgear system, then, yes, it would be pointless to renew the subscription in January.
