Does Armor/Bitdefender offer anything that AVG Ultimate doesn't /

The info for Armor suggests that Bitdefender it is installed in the router it's self and this sound like a very good idea but but the text then tells me that  it should also be used to replace my antivirus that's installed on my various laptops, tablets etc etc. So my questions are: if I keep my AVG will I be wasting my money by also buying Bitdefender - Can I use Bitdefender to protect the Netgear router and things like Google Chromecast and keep AVG on other devices?
