How do I turn off Armor/Bitdefender on my Orbi Router
I foolishly accepted trying Netgear's Armor by BitDefender on my Orbi Router mesh and it is now blocking long-used very safe sites that I urgently need for my work, yet there is not obvious way to ei...

Start the App. On the main menu there should be a home icon on the top left. Click that. Then click on the settings, should be top options. Then click on security. Then disable it.

Hi Goudbezie . From the Orbi app on your device, go to settings, security, and disable Armor. That's all you have to do. Armor will always be there, ready to be re-activated, because it is part of the Orbi software. But as long as you disable it in the app, it's no longer functional.
- GoudbezieJun 24, 2019StarThat didn’t work. If I toggle it off it stays active. Factory reset did the trick in the end.
- Bluesrock99Jun 26, 2019TutorYou have to do a complete factory reset of the system. I did that and it seems to have worked. It got to the part about the armor and I backed out. It no longer shows active when I go into the app and stuff seems to be working better. (Before with it turned on it wouldn't load scores in the mlb app and now by not activating it from the start it does)

NetGear is evil. I installed Orbi app on my Android phone, and I am 100% sure I was not asked about activating or opting in to the Armor bull**bleep**. It enabled Armor without me knowing. What are they thinking at NetGear? Do they treat their customers as stupid money paying idiots? NetGear keeps disappointing me, with bugs in their systems, providing bull**bleep** features, deceiving their users!!! I am waiting any comparable router system from other vendors to leave NetGear forever behind. I am done with NetGear.

As many others have said, including me, turning off Armor, does NOT remove the website BLOCKING issue. It obviously should, but for some unexplained reason (other than yearly re-occurring revenue to Netgear) they have chosen to force this malware on their unsuspecting customers. As others have said, I also will NEVER be a Netgear customer again‼️

Hello Tom4278 & ColoradoBound,
May you confirm that Armor is disabled when looking at the Security Tile of the Nighthawk or Orbi app.
Thanks,
Christian

I hope it's not an indication of lack of support that I can't set my router model from the drop-down for these messages. RAX50 | AX5400 | Nighthawk AX6. And why can't these things have one single model so they're not confusing?
Anyway, same issue as a lot of people are having. Stupidly set the switch in the iOS Nighthawk app to enable Armor, and not cannot disable it. I get the same error message about it taking too long (over 60 secs) and to try again. Reinstalled the app. Nope. Reset the router. Nope. Why woud you let junior programmers operating out of mud huts in the back country in Australia write your code? This is crap. How do I disable this junk? My phones get network access but no internet now, the PS4's lag like hell, the XBox One loses connection several times a day. Only the Windows 10 boxes seem to be stable. All since enabling Armor.
Also, WTF is there something that can only be configured from an app that requires working wifi that is NOT also configurable from the router management page (routerlogin.net) with a wired connection? Someone had a bad case of neural flatulance with that design.
I WANT IT GONE. I DON"T WANT ANY PART OF IT AFFECTING MY NETWORK ANY MORE.
