Move hard drives from RN10200 to RN21200 safely

Hi, I have a ReadyNAS server RN10200-100AJS. It decided to stop working yesterday and simply will not power up.

I am about to buy the model most similar to this which I believe is RN21200-100AJS.

I want to know if I take the two drives from the RN10200 and insert them in the RN21200, will it just "work" ? Or will it ask me to reformat the drives and lose everything on them. I don't really have a way of backing up the data on an additonal drive as I dont have a way of accessing the data.

Thanks

Emil

Migratng disks from an OS 6 Unit to another OS 6 is simple as transferring the disks on the other unit. See here.

However, it is much advisable to use a spare disk if possible to initialize your RN212 and have it updated to the latest version (6.9.5) then migrate all disks in the same order.

    Hope this helps!
