I am well aware of this security feature in Microsoft Windows. It is not a problem, it's a feature. I founded and have managed a software company for over 30 years and relying on Windows User Account Controls and using non-Adminstrator accounts for daily use is standard best practices for security. Other products, like Symantec Endpoint are able to update in the background using the authorization I provided during setup. Bitdefender's implementation is simplistic and extremely inconvenient in comparison, and the recommendation from both Netgear and Bitdefender to pass out Administrator credentials to everyone is ridiculous from a security perspective. This is NOT what I expect from companies like Netgear and Bitdefender who claim to be all about security.
