RS700S - Came with 1 year of Armor Security, but does not work

 

This is my first Netgear router product. I bought it late September coming from an Amplify (Ubiquiti) Alien previously. I went through 3 warranty replacements of those and they kept dying. The variation I just purchased is the RS700S, so it came with a 1 year subscription to Netgear Armor Security. I have validated this while logged into the website based on my registered serial number. However, my router will not seem to recognize that I have this subscription. The Knowledge Base tells me that upon going to the hamburger menu in the upper left corner of the Nighthawk app, I should see an option for My Subscriptions then Security. I do not see that option, but based on what I can see I click on Settings, then Security, and then I see a screen advertising Netgear Armor. There is only an option to "Activate Trial." When I click this, it shows "Activating" on the screen until it times out a few minutes later and I get an error pop up that says, "Error, Failed to Subscribe" and my only option is to click OK to dismiss. Then I am left with the option to Try Again. That will only get me the same result. I have tried this on both my iPhone and my iPad but get the same results. I did not know until now that the ability to contact support is something I only got access to for the first 90 days after purchasing this router. Had I known that up front, I may have gone another direction especially after paying for a higher end device.
