Circle Blocks all Traffic with Any filter - RBR50

ORBI RBR50 Firmware 2.5.2.4

Device: ipad with OS14.3 (Private network Disabled to allow Circle to apply MAC Address Filtering.)

Issue: When activating any filter level in Circle, even Adult with everything allowed, all web traffic is blocked. If I change the filter to None, all traffic is enabled.

All I want to do is block youtube on my kid's school iPad. I had the filter set up and working correctly until early last week when I had to reboot the network. Since then, I cannot get the Cirlce filters to work correctly. No combination of reboot the device, rejoin the network, etc has yielded results.

Can anyone help me with this? Seriously, blocking a website is the simplest level of filtration. This entire app has been nothing by a pain in the butt that breaks, is inconsistent, or does not deliver on the most basic of internet filtering needs.

  • To add, the filter works correctly when I apply it against one of the other computers in the network. It's just somthing with this iPad. I see the MDM policy has set a global http proxy. this is the only difference between how my other devices access the network. It is not clear, however, why this would cause a problem now after working for months.

  • And updated to 2.7.2.104 firmware. Still nothing. Had to download and do that manually as well. Auto update does not detect a new file to download for firmware. Does anyone still work here or even give a crap if these things work correctly?
