May 17, 2021Orbi Netgear router alone without using the Circle App
Unless Netgear wants most of its customers to leave becuase they can't out source such a simple feature of time control. The Circle app has a very low rating on the Google Store 2.4 and most agree it's horrible. The following comments posted summarize how I feel as well: "The Orbi RBR50's parental controls are through Circle. I've used Circle in the past and it's no good - glitchy and slow bandwidth. And apparently now Circle can't recognize any of my Apple devices unless I install software on each device. In other words, Apple devices show up as "unknown device"; therefore, I don't know which device to select for monitoring and shutting down.
I am fully aware that I can see all my devices on the Orbi network through the Orbi app. Plus, I can turn wifi off and on through the Orbi app for individual devices. There just isn't an option for bedtime limits through the Orbi app alone."
So, is there a way to use Orbi Netgear router alone without using a foreign, ill-conceived and incompetent Circle app for bedtime control limits?

Hi Retired_Member,
Just to add to what Christian_R said, you'll also need to make sure that you are using the latest RBR50: FW https://kb.netgear.com/000062857/RBR50-RBS50-Firmware-Version-2-7-2-104
Hope this helps.
