Thank you so much for following up! :)
1. I will look up and confirm!
2. Yes, I have another LaCie drive (different model, lower capacity), but it had the same issue.
3. I did not. I used same computer, but was on a different network (my neighbors).
Essentially the issue is: if I enable password protection for the drive, I can't access it over internet. The little login/password window popps up, but doesn't accept credentials (says they're wrong).
If I am on the home network though - it accepts the credentials (from the same laptop).
However, if password protection is disabled, I can access the drive even from the internet, using my neighbor's network.
I owe you:
1. Firmware version
2. Trying to access the drive using a differnt device
I'm on work trip right now, but will be home over the weekend, and will try again! Thank you for helping me!

Alright! Tested out a number of things, but no solution yet :(
Summary: FAT32 is accessible when password protection is disabled. But if password is enabled, can't access even from home/native network. Behavior is independent of the device and network.
1. Firmware: V2.02.08
2. Another storage device: Yes, I tried a few shown below.
Device File system Access without password Access with password
512 MB flash FAT32 Yes No
2 GB flash FAT32 Yes No
3 TB drive NTFS N/A - not seen by system N/A - not seen by system
8 TB drive FAT32 Yes No
3. Another device: Yes, I tried my work laptop using both home network and neighbor's network. Can access - but only if password protection is disabled.
So, all is working as desired except for access when password is enabled. Is there anything else I can try?
