Thanks for the information and I will try to answer all the questions. The message I recieved when entering my admin password was that it was not correct with prompts to take you to Netgears website.
When using the Netgear app on my Apple phone you get a prompt if you cannot remember your password. This was the direction I took and it took me to a Netgear webpage where I had two options www.routerlogin.net and www.routerlogin.com. When I went to those websites is where the error occured. I tried it on my laptop, Apple phone and a Microsoft edge. I got the same error message that the page could not download. I went to to a Netgear help page and got the same error. Basically it was to take you to Netgear where you could enter your serial number and it would send your password via email.
I went to the Netgear help website per my model number and it gave me the same website that did not work.
I did not want to reset my system since I was on the phone with Netgear support for hours when I first installed the system. I did not want to go through that again.
My internet provider is Google, but when I set it up originally I turned the Google wireless off. My system had worked fine for about 11 months until my admin password quit working. My user name and password still worked as information. I never changed my passwords on the system and did not forget them.
So a here is the ending to the story, my wireless system quit working intermittently and would not keep working and was really causing an issue. So I powered my Netgear modem off and restarted the system figuring since it isn't working and it was ready to replace it everything came baack on line, I looked at my app on my phone and it took my admin password and had worked fine since.
The fix was to power down the Netgear modem.

I doubt if that is a "Netgear website", as in something out there on the Internet. It is more likely to be the graphical user interface (GUI) on your router. (Tell us the address of that "website" and you might get more help.)

I didn't know that Google was also an Internet service provider. (It isn't where I live.) Do you pay Google for your Internet? Or do you mean that you have a Google device that connects you to the Internet?
Is there a Google box of some sort sitting between your RBK20W and the Internet? If so, turning off the wifi does not disable the router bit.

What is this Netgear "modem"? Your message is about the RBK20W. That isn't a modem. Is there another Netgear device that you haven't told us about?
My guess, based on incomplete details of what is at your end, is that you
have two routers on your network and that is the cause of your grief.
Two routers on your network can cause headaches. For example, you can end up with local address problems. Among other things, the other router can misdirect addresses that the Netgear router usually handles, such as routerlogin.net or the usual IP address for a router, 192.168.1.1.
This explains some of the other drawbacks.

To me this confirms my analysis. If this happens again, here's the solution.
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
- Turn off and unplug modem.
- Turn off router and computers.
- Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
- Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
- Turn on computers and rest of network.
If you have problems in the future, do tell people about everything on your network. The sudden arrival of a "Netgear modem" means that you missed out an import link on the chain.

Please excuse my terminology error in my earlier note. I meant router not modem. My wifi router is the RBK20W.
On the app on my Apple I phone when I would try to open the app, is when iit was asking for my admin password. Since my password would not work the Netgear app gave me two options Forgot password or reset the Netgear router. As mentioned earlier restting the system was not my first option. When I chose reset admin password it took me to a Netgear help webpage with routerlogin.com or routerlogin.net. When I would enter those pages is when I got the error message.
I have tried to recreate the incident since everything is working now and Icannot recreate it or i would take a screen shot and attach it. I can access the website now.
(maybe something to do with the router needing to be started?)
We we live we have Google Fiber as our internet and television provider. Google admits the their wifi routers are lest than okay and recommend you get your own wifi router. This is very common in our area and Google support assists you in turning off their wifi as no not interfere with the Netgear or what ever other router we purchase.
I was trying to let you know everything but called my router a modem by mistake.
