Admin pw not working for nighthawk app on android device
I am able to sign in with admin credentials via browser but when trying to do so in the app, I get an error - "Your router is unreachable. Please check that your router is on. If the issue persists, t...

Apologies for not being more specific. I am able to sign in via browser on my laptop wired directly to my router with admin username and password. When using the same credentials in the app on my phone I am prompted with the unreachable error.
I have tried resetting the admin password by following the forgot password link within the app on my phone which takes me through to a browser sign in where I click cancel and then am prompted with creating a new password, entering it in a second time, then answering my two security questions. When I go through this process, after submitting is when I'm prompted to use their provided temp pw of @newdig. I have signed in successfully with admin credentials via browser on phone as well as laptop at routerlogin.com.
I have not gone the route of factory reset as everything is functional, connections are solid, and I can access admin features via web browser. The only thing that is not working in this set up is the mobile app as it is repeatedly looking for me to sign in with admin credentials then giving me the 'unreachable' error message each time, even after confirming username and pw are working by signing into routerlogin.com

Sorry. But more questions.
Is this phone/app the Android version or IoS?
Is this connected to the wifi from the router rather than over the Internet?
Did you set up the router and app for Anywhere Access?
Remember, the login details for the router are not the same as the login details for Anywhere Access.
My recollection, which may be wrong, is that you have to sign into Anywhere Access before you get to the router's login details.
Why can’t I log in to my router using the Nighthawk App? - NETGEAR Support
One more question, what is the firmware version on your R6700?
That router was made before the Nighthawk App. It needs the right firmware to use the app.
- Ironozzy18Dec 09, 2023TutorApp is android
App is connected to wifi via the router
Not sure on the anywhere access - I hadn't changed anything and was able to access the app for two years prior to me power cycling the modem/router recently. Looking around it looks like that is something you'd set within the app - I am unable to sign into the app so not sure how to proceed here
I am aware that router login has different credentials than the netgear login - both credential sets work when connected via ethernet through laptop connected to router - same credentials do NOT work in the android mobile app
Firmware Version
V1.0.4.128_10.0.104
I hope that is sufficient information. Long story short - admin credentials work for 192.168.1.1 but will not work in the app and was working prior to power cycling modem and router- michaelkenwardDec 09, 2023Guru - Experienced User

It is a pity that Netgear does not provide decent documentation in how the apps work, especially the login sequence. Your device is so old – 2018 based on V1 from 2014 – that it predates the Nighthawk app, so the manual is no use.
Can you login to the router at192.168.1.1 with the browse on the phone?
I assume that you don't have any fancy characters in the admin password.
- Ironozzy18Dec 09, 2023TutorWhere can I find the correct firmware version? Model information was pulled from the 192.168.1.1 page when viewed from my mobile device browser connected via wifi as well as laptop browser connected via ethernet. Please clarify where I could find model and firmware if this is no correct.
No fancy characters in pw - just upper case letter, lower case letter, and number.
Router was purchased in 2021 and just checked the label on the underside of it and it shows as v3. My apologies for not listing it correctly originally
