Can’t connect to new Spectrum modem
I had Spectrum service for 6 years…moved to new home & kept Spectrum service but they gave me a new modem. I kept my Nighthawk R7000p wireless router but I cant’t get it to connect to new Spectrum router. I tried the app but it cant find router. I get spectrum internet directly to my pc via ethernet but when i take the snae connection & plug it into Nighthawk it wont connect. Amber internet light. Spectrum support says its a nighthawk issue 😕 how can i connect? Tia..

What modem/gateway are you using from spectrum?
You put you're connecting the R7000P to a router, what router is that?
Reason I ask is if you're using 2x routers, it causes a double nat.
A double nat happens when you cascade more than 1 router.

Fixes? There’s 3 options but only use 1.
1. Put the modem/gateway in modem only/pass through mode. This disables its routing functions.
2. Leave the modem/gateway in router mode but put the Netgears IP address into its DMZ. This forwards the data to the netgear. You can either leave the modem/gateway’s wireless enabled or disabled. Just make sure its using a different wifi channel to prevent interference
3. Put the Netgear into access point mode. This disables its routing functions. Wifi/ethernet still works but it does disable some features.
