Same problem here.
Filtering on device level in the network panel does not work (pc version and android app)
WNDR4300 firmware 1.0.2.80
Pitty, because good parental control on a router is important.
Also keyword filtering would be apreciated with the parental control (it's either 1 or the other it seems)

Hi godly75,
1. Please make sure that the DNS values on the router UI are set to 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220.
2. You can make use of the keyword blocking feature via the router since OpenDNS does not support this. You can check the link below.

Hi,
have exactly the same issue - cannot change the level of filtering per device using the Network Map.
Router model: C6300
Hardware Version V3.0
Firmware Version V1.02.21Genie Version on Mac: 2.4.22
Genie Version on Android: 3.1.12
On Android device: "Setting failed."
On MAC book: no error is show, however it is still stated "Default level on router" after refresh the Network Map.

This seems to be an issue across multiple Netgear routers that has been known for up to 2 years based upon posts on these forums. If you are lucky resetting your router will restore the correct functionality but eventualy the issue will reappear. It might take a couple of months, a couple of weeks, or a few minutes. I've personally experienced all three. Clearly somethng is getting corrupted on the router because if you save your router configuration with the problem present before resetting and then restore the configuration after resetting the problems are also restored. As I've already said on another thread this is totally unacceptable. It potentially means that the least internet savvy users of your network are not protected from some of the more unsavory corners of the interenet. The nasty outbreak of ransomeware over the weekend being an extreme example of the possible consequences. Netgear should put more energy into fixing this issue and show more respect for their customers given their claims about the levels of security their products are (in))capable of supporting. If any of us were a bank, a goverment agency, or some other organisation with a higher profile and greater purchasing power with Netgear perhaps the response would be different.
