Hi Quintin89,
This has already been reported and is currently being looked at. I will be sending an inquiry to Engineering about this and provide an update on this thread.

This is marked as "Solved" but when i click on the solution link it just points me to a tech saying it has been reported before and they are working on it. Not really solved...

I am having the same issues. I have seen posts regarding throughout this year. It doesn't seem that Netgear sees this as a priority. Time to switch router.

Hi unhappy_buyer,
We apologize for the inconvenience. This is currently being worked on by Engineering. In the mean time, you can try using an iOS or MAC OS X device for you to log in to your OpenDNS account using the NETGEAR Genie and manage your LPC settings.

Same problem:
OSX (v10.11): " There was an error signing in, please make sure you're connected to the internet and try again"
IOS (v9.1): Genie either exits or crashes. Genie comes up, Traffic Meter works, Wireless Settings works (but is rather useless), Network Map goes to 'Loading Network Map' dialog and proceeds to endlessly spin... Parental Controls goes to 'Loading Parental Controls' dialog, and then promptly exits...
OpenDNS support webpage has an ongoing (since April 2014) stream on this topic: https://support.opendns.com/entries/33173850-I-cant-get-the-Parental-Control-to-accept-my-login
Scrolling down a year you get the following:
"Even logged out and back into the genie. On the routers web access page, the parental controls button doesn't even work."
What exact Netgear router model do you have? Is it supported by the Genie app at all?
http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/24686/If not, use the older Management Utility and User Utility: https://www.opendns.com/downloads/
"OpenDNS is monitoring this forum but not taking responsibility for their product."
Oh, I'm confident that OpenDNS take every responsibility for their products. But Netgear routers do not count as such as the firm name "Netgear" already says.

And while this gets me further into the process (I can now register my network on the account), I'm still not past the Genie login issue...
