firmware update
Trying to update but Nighthawk app doesn't support AC3160. How do I get this and other updates accomplished, or am I better off replacing the router? It's been working fine until very recently. Thank...

AC3160 is a popular, older 1x1 Intel WiFi Client Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 - very useful for driver updates is the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant btw.

Aha. Nothing to do with Netgear. Certainly beyond the scope of the Nighthawk app.
That explains why I couldn't find anything.
With luck careerken now knows where to go.

Whatever people are asking sometimes 8-)
This is what Gemini does create on the subject:
The Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 is a Wi-Fi adapter that supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. While it doesn't have separate firmware itself, it relies on drivers and BIOS updates to function properly. So, depending on what you're looking for, here are some options:
Drivers:
- Intel's website: You can download the latest drivers for your specific operating system directly from Intel's website: https://www.intel.com/content/
www/us/en/products/sku/75442/ intel-dual-band-wirelessac- 3160/downloads.html - Manufacturer's website: If you're using a laptop or pre-built system, the manufacturer's website might have specific drivers for your device that are optimized for the AC3160 adapter. Check the support section of your device's page.
BIOS updates:
- Manufacturer's website: BIOS updates are essential for ensuring compatibility between your hardware and software. Check your device manufacturer's website for the latest BIOS update for your system. This might indirectly update the firmware for the AC3160 adapter as well.
Additional information:
- OpenWrt forum: If you're using OpenWrt firmware on your device, you might need to install specific packages for the AC3160 adapter to work properly. You can find more information on the OpenWrt forum: https://forum.openwrt.org/t/
