Just tried using parental controls in Genie App but it will never connect to OpenDNS during the setup process. I have now created two accounts in OpenDNS and the accounts work fine at the OpenDNS we...

maybe you should let your other techs know about this instead of having customers on the phone for hours troubleshooting something that currently has no fix. I will have to return this R8000 and exchange for ASUS, as my old one worked perfectly for parental controls.(unless Netgear comes up with a "quickfix" soon)

so frustrated by this also - I purchased a linksys last month and found out the parental controls consisted of me blocking up to 8 sites by manually putting them in - not helpful - so I just purchased this NightHawk because it looked like the parental controls were stellar - now I get all this work done on it (purchase, install, set up, download genie etc..) and it won't work - I cant get it to sign in! I'm so frustrated. can't believe it doesnt even work! I have the r7000. pulling my hair out right now - whats left of it...

Hi KHouse,
We apologize for the inconvenience that this situation has caused you. Engineering is already working on a fix for this. In the mean time, I recommend logging in to your OpenDNS account using an iOS or MAC OS X device for you to manage your LPC settings.

I just retried launching genie app on my android and from PC app and genie will still not accept my OpenDNS password (but the same p/w works fine at OpenDNS website).
I haven't yet tried the fully automated router setup suggested by someone else, affraid it will mess-up my internet connection entirely. When I have more time I'll try that.
But as it stands genie is a complete dud for me.
