How/where does Netgear Genie gather media attributes?

When I am using the Netgear Genie as a DLNA server, all of my media (music, pictures, videos) have Unknown album, Unknown artist, etc.  In Windows, when I view the Media properties, I can see values there.  So, my question was where does the Netgear genie pull those values?

Thanks!

    Hi @eric_bor,

    1. On which device/s are you streaming to?

    2. Can you please provide a screenshot if possible.

    3. What is the router model number and firmware version?

    Regards,

      Hi Dexter,

Thanks for the reply.  I'm just trying to pull it up on the Netgear Genie on my PC, but it has the same result on the iPad Genie.  Actually, any streaming device (smart TV, Roku, etc).  Once I click on the DLNA source coming from the Genie-connected device, I click on Music and the Artist (or Genre, etc) and it will say Unknown <whatever>.  Other DLNA sources don't have the same issue.

My device is an R7000 with 1.0.5.48 firmware.

      Thanks!

        Hi @eric_bor,

I believe you are referring to the My Media feature of the program. I have done my own test and it looks like the NETGEAR Genie app/program does not pull/detect the file attributes.  We certainly appreciate for taking notice and this is something that we will be looking in to. In the mean time, you can use other DLNA apps/programs which are able to read the file attributes/metadata.

        Regards,
