identifying devices on my netwrok
network genie says i have 12 devices on my home network. some are identified by a name, but many simply have a number. How could i go about identifying and naming each device on my network. things...

One way to approach this is by checking the corresponding IP address assigned to device through the Network Map then checking the IP on the actual device. Another way is to do address reservation in order for the device to have a consistent IP address assigned to it by the router so that you can easily name the device through the Network Map. Jan 15, 2016What ever happened to providing some basic information like the model number of the router when posting. I ask not to be difficult but to try and help. For instance a R7000 has a edit option in the attached devices menu when using access control. NOT all models have it so why mention it. Unless of course the OP has that model but we'll never know that without asking.
