Logging into the Admin settings on a web browser
I try logging into the admin settings through a web browser. It takes me to my password recovery. I enter what my answers are for the security questions, and for split second, it converts my answers ...
Happens in all browsers? Try MS Edge, Firefox or Opera.
Be sure to clear out all browser caches and any saved PW profiles in the browser prior to entering the routers web page.
Wire connect a PC to the router and factory reset the router using the back push pin button. Hold it in for 10 seconds then let go. Then log in to routerlogin.com or 192.168.1.1 using a wired PC and web browser and walk thru the setup wizard. Be sure write down all important information for safe keeping later on.

Factory reset again? That doesn't explain why my answers get changed to numbers, letters, and symbols. I type them in and they are find, hit continue and they change just before going to the next screen. If I perform a factory reset, is that going to cause issues of forget all my devices I have connected to my router? I just did a factory reset about 3 weeks ago. Am I going to have to do this every time I want to log in through a web browser?

Reset it and you erase any answers that you may have provided earlier on. You are back to the defaults.

This is local access on your own network. So you probably don't need a heavy duty password.
