Login Denied on Nighthawk App
I just got a new Samsung S24+ (Model SM-S926U, Hardware version REV1.0, Android 14) and am signing into all of the apps. I went to sign into the NETGEAR Nighthawk WiFi Router app (Version 2.40.0.4040...
- Sep 28, 2024I did what you suggested, but it didn't like my password for the router so I couldn't reset. In one last attempt, what I ended up doing was asking for the one time temporary password that Netgear will email to you to try to access the app. I'm 100% certain I was using the correct one before... That let me into the app, kinda, because for some strange reason, the app requested that I do what you essentially described, which was to do the reset, before I could use the app. This time it liked the password, so I reset it to the exact same password and I was in the app fine! I logged back out, used what I knew was my password, and it let me in fine on the new phone... Just in case this happens again, I believe I could go to "192.168.0.1" in a browser and use the Netgear Genie to get back into the router as long as the phone is already connected to the WiFi. Thank you for your help.

Be sure to disable any MAC Address randomizers on phones and pads while at home:

Thank you FURRYe38.
Out of hope, I simply tried disabling MAC Address randomizers on my phone and tried to log on again to no avail, same result.
I can't rest the router right now, but that looks like the next route.
There should be better solution. I get Netgear is a hardware/firmware company, and really liked their stuff, but I'm beyond tired of their software...

Hopefully the reset process will work.

Glad you got it working. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.
