In the process of thisdiscussion, I have discovered that having Genie switched off completely actually helps my Asset server to be picked up faster by the Naim app and then run more reliably. Thanks for your help Dexter, but I think this is the solution. I only need Genie for diagnostic purposes anyway so having it closed as the norm seems to be the sensible option. It'll save you time too.

I'm running version 2.4.20 of Genie
The firmware is version 1.0. 4.2
If Genies is switched off completely, the service stops.
I have tried the idea you suggest of unchecking those two options, and it made no difference. The service was still running

Please provide screenshots showing that the NETGEAR Genie Media service is stopped on the UI and it still running on the app.
