Does the Nest Mini appear on the Attached Devices page with an IP address?
Connected to the same WiFi as the phone running the Home app?
(see page 103 of the User Manual: https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/MK62/MK62_UM_EN.pdf )
A common troubleshooting step is to 'ping' the device on the network. Unfortunately, Google did not configure the Nest Mini to respond to ICMP requests ('ping').

I do not have the same WiFi system. I do have a Nest Mini, which has been connected to two different Orbi WiFi systems. I just did a Factory Reset on the Nest Mini and set it up using the Google Home app on an Android phone.
App 'sees' the Nest.
Nest responds to voice commands.
Was not aware of numerous reports. Will check the Nighthawk forum to see what others have been saying.
