NetGear Cable Modem c7000: My iPhone 7 is not recognized for the Nighthawk installation.
When installing the NightHawk app, my iPhone is not recognized and therefore will not receive a verification code. The only other option available on said screen is "Try Another Verification Method". When selected, it shows an old email address that I had that is no longer vallid. So, I can not use that method of verificaion either. I am not sure why the NightHawk app is picking up an old email address, may have been used to register an older NetGear NightHawk DSL modem, not sure. My only option at this point is to call and pay for NetGear support to see if they can remedy the situation. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Can we go back to the beginning? Why are you installing the app?
What are you trying to do? Install a C7000?
You don't need to mess around with apps to do that.
Visit the support pages:

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.
Look for the model number on the label on the device.
Begin with the Quick Start/Installation Guide.
You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.Talk of an "old email address" is odd. You don't need that to do most things, certainly not to get a modem/router to work.
- hattrik11AspirantThanks for the reply Mike. I need to install the NightHawk app on my iPhone to help track down a rogue SSID showing up as an option on our devices from our residential location which is quite rural. There are no nearby residences or utility poles or lines within 300 feet and we live in the middle of 15 acres of very dense forest. There is no possible way that our devices should be detecting any other SSID. When I click on the info tab for this rogue SSID, it does not give me the option to “Forget this Network”. Also, there is a “Private Address” button for this rogue SSID that someone is manipulating on and off, I keep turning it off and it comes back on all by itself? When this is happening, I noticed that any non-private search that I do from Safari, that search history will show up under my “Private” side of Safari. Someone is watching what I am doing on the internet via our WiFi and my goal is to find out who it is.

I have encountered "rogue" SSIDs that are actually artefacts rather than anything wicked. For example, I have two seemingly strange SSIDs, but I know that they come from my Arlo cameras.

I would p[ut less emphasis on an app to find those things tan on a browser graphical user interface (GUI).
One thing I would do is to see if I can determine the MAC address of the rogue and then work out who made it.
