Netgear Genie App and BT home hub 5
Hi all, I have a BT home hub 5 and a netgear ex7300 extender. Should I be able to use the netgear genie app on my iPhone/iPad. I am unable to connect it to my router for some reason.
What do you mean by "flavours"? They said it supports ipv6.
I bought a new router because the stability and performance of my home hub 5 was very frustrating. The new one has made a tremendous difference. On 5ghx I now get a download speed of about 43mbs & ping of 10/11 on the extender, at the farthest part of my house. Previously I could rarely use the 5ghx, & if even if I could, it would start to fail a few days later. That was my motive & concern but as a lay person I don't understand what problems you're suggesting I might have in the future.
I'll go back & ask them that as well.
so what are the consequences of that, will the router cease to work?
It is highly unlikely that the router will stop working. It is an internet addressing thing. My guess is that for some time the only likely effect is in how efficiently networks operate.
