I can't disprupt the network right now, but I simulated connecting the ONT by enabling Internet sharing on my Mac from wifi to Ethernet. I connected another computer to the Ethernet port and received IP address 192.168.2.33, so it is defintely serving DHCP like my ISP would.

I then connected the Ethernet cable to the WAN port of my RBR50, and connected the other computer to one of the LAN ports. Still no IP address, and still no default Orbi02 SSID broadcast.

None of that simulation will work. The reason you will not get an IP address is the Orbi has to first make a complete connection with the ONT and receive instructions , DNS servers and an IP address from the ONT, as well as setup DHCP or AP. Then the Orbi will configure itself. So basically the Orbi is not configured, and has to be configured before it will work. Unfortunately you are just wasteing your time. So when you get a chance, disrupt your network and do a proper setup following the instructions that come with your Orbi product. .
