- The old Netgear Genie worked fine with the R8000. As soon as they upgraded Genie it stopped working. I left a bad review on the App Store. They replied and said to email them at netgeargenie@netgear.com. I have sent several emails to get support. Not once have they responded. I checked both my inbox and junk mail and there was not one response from netgear. There is zero support from Netgear.
