Netgear genie support
Hi everybody I've just bought the netgear Nighthawk R7000 All works fine but when I click on parental control, I land on a web page where I have to dowload Netgear Genie. When I install netgear...

Hey try this, use the genie and click on the parental controls option. When you get to the page look in the lower right hand corner, there should be a refresh option, click that and see if it allows you to continue on.
Also you can log into your router by using 192.168.1.1 and entering the user name and password. From there try going to the parental controls and try accessing it from there.
And to answer your question I think the genie is more for managing the wireless side of your network such your password , parental controls, viewing devices connected and data traffic on your network and the secure log in ( 192.168.1.1 ) has more to do with the routers internal settings like IP address and sub-net mask, blocking devices, and things of that nature. Let me know if you continue to have trouble. Or if it worked for that matter. lol
