Netgear Genie will not work on my new Windows 10 machine. Closes immedieately

Hi @Fastercat,

If your computer is using Windows 10 and is getting an error message, you may follow the steps below.

1. Uninstall the NETGEAR Genie program from the computer/device.
2. Download the previous version (2.4.12) of the NETGEAR Genie.

3. Install the program and check if it functions correctly.
4. Locate the drivers folder under C:\Program Files\NETGEAR Genie\bin and copy it to the desktop.
5. Download and install the latest version of NETGEAR Genie again using the download link below.

6. Look for the same folder under the same location and delete the folder.
7. Replace the folder with the folder that you pasted on the desktop from the working version of NETGEAR Genie.
8. Close the NETGEAR Genie program through the system tray.
9. Re-open the NETGEAR Genie program and check if it works.

  That link doesnt work, it says not responding, need to close progam, and yes i am running windows 10 on my hp spectre i7

  Using your download directions, I got version 2.4.12 installed. It worked. Thank you so much for the help. Please explain why I need the drivers from the new version since it is working with the original drivers. I will do that change just because you said to.
