I use Netgear Genie for just one reason. Checking the speed of my Powerline Adapters. I currently have 3 off XAV1301 and 1 off XAVN2001. Unfortunately there is some history to this. There was once a...

Hi Royalman,
1. What version of NETGEAR Genie did you previously had with your Vista computer?
2. What was the link rate speed did it show you before on your powerline adapters?

Hi Dexter,
My Download speeds are consistently in the range 185Mbs to 195Mbs. And the uploads were of a similar order.
I don't know what version of Genie was running on my old Vista PC as it died suddenly and wasn't worth repairing. I have found the install file from my backup and it is was just called NETGEARGenie-install. Later versions of Netgear Genie seem to have the version number embedded in the name of the install file you download. It's a shame Netgear didn't do this on earlier versions.
As it happens my preferred solution would be to use the Powerline Utility. Looking last night I see that is now at version 3.1.0.4. The version I couldn't get going with both V1 and V2 of the XAV1301 was 2.2.27.1. Let me try that latest version of the Powerline Utility as Netgear are saying it is Windows 10 compatible.
Do you know if Netgear will continue to fix bugs in the Powerline Utility? Or has any ongoing development ceased?
