Hello! I hope someone is able to help me out - because this is so unbelieveably frustrating. For starters - using: Netgear Modem CM500 Netgear Nightawk AC1750 Route R6700v3 ISP: Comcas...

I have been getting this the last couple weeks now on my old firmware , I upgraded my firmware to see if it resolved this and it did not ,
It seems to be related to the app rather than anything else.

I'm also now having a serious issue where my router is also throttling my connection speed to my isp
Hard to see how these two things can be related.
You might want to start a fresh conversation to try to get to the bottom of that one.

Well fact no one from Netgear has even bothered to respond and all updates since my original message did not fix issue. I suspect Netgear does not care... probably will not buy Netgear again. Anyone have a good suggestion for other routers?

Did you read the reply to you? That explained that the problem has nothing to do with your firmware. It is a problem with the Nighthawk app. That is why it has hit different routers.

You read just one of the many discussions on this issue. And an old one at that.
It is a pity that you aren't getting personal attention among all the other messages. But you joined in on an old discussion started six months ago by spollard101 rather than starting one of your own. That is a better way to get personal attention.
From more recent discussions, its seems that Netgear does care and has a fix in the works. Just how long the fix will last, is anybody's guess. After all, it isn't the first time it has happened.

Yes, I read the issue is app only. Point is that if Netgear is not going support the app or appearing to act interested in fixing when known issue why would I want to continue to use their product. I can log directly into it, but it is an old nighthawk. It is getting time to replace, so debating which brand to switch if Netgear is not interested in fixing issues customers are having.
Your probably right I should create my own. Not sure if I want to exert that much effort at this point.

Up to you, but the first bit is incorrect.
Netgear is "appearing to act interested" albeit a bit too slowly for most people.
- StarrelNov 12, 2022AspirantI am having the same exact issue. I even tried a factory reset on my router. Deleted the app and reinstalled. Everything. Yet when i go back through my set up, it just keeps giving the error when it gets back to the admin login page. Idk what to do other than buy a new router.

Until Netgear fixes this, the best option would be to forget about using the app to manage your router. Use the browser graphical user interface (GUI) instead. This is best done on a PC with a wired connection but wifi will also work.

You can set up a router without using the mobile app.
Manuals are always a good place to start.
Visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.
Look for the model number on the label on the device.
Begin with the Quick Start/Installation Guide.
If that doesn't help. check the manual. - StarrelNov 12, 2022AspirantThe mobile app will not work. It takes me to the admin login page and when i enter my password, it immediately says "login timed out please try again." After the factory reset, it wont let me continue past that page. I dont know what else i can do seeing that i cant connect to the router with my laptop. I totally lost here.

That's just one of dozens of conversations on the same topic.
The good news is that you do not need any app to set up a router. Indeed, the app is possibly the worst way of going about it, despite Netgear's exhortations.
I already provided one link that should have offered some clues.
