  • So after the guy told me I MUST pay 89 dollars for 6 months of support for my nighthawk router to work, he made fun of me and teased me saying he could hit the button and fix my machine right now for the 89 dollars!! Anyone else have this type of disrespect and dishonesty?? Still can't get my firmware updated btw, it says I am not connected to router?!

      Can you log in to the router if you try a web browser and the ip address 192.168.1.1 if this allows access you could download the firmware for your router and manually update the router.

      I have heard story's along the same line before in other postings and find that the person on the phone with you may need to retake a support course and may be a few changes to the way netgear handles problems over their support system a little kindness goes a long way to change the outcome and feelings about netgear support.
