NETGEARGenie Desktop App version 2.4.22 keeps crashing on macos/OS X ((R7800 router))
Setup:
NETGEARGenie Desktop App version 2.4.22
Macbook Air (2017)
macos Sierra (10.12.6 (16G29))
Network router: R7800, Firmware: v1.0.2.28
Symptom:
NETGEARGenie Desktop App keeps crashing after some period while running in the background (as required for AirPrint access to a USB printer attached to the R7800 router).
The app itself works OK for interactive use--configuration, etc.
Notes:
1) crash reports of course available on request (any hints which parts of the report to post here would be welcome, too!)
2) The app was freshly installed on a new Macbook Air; the crashes persist across system restarts and full shutdown & reboot.
3) this version of NETGEARGenie crashes in the same fashion on an old setup consisting of a white plastic Macbook ~2008 running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 -- but that of course is an unsupported configuration.
4) I was the similar thread from 2016 (posting by juliegoldfinch, 2016-05-01 10:55 PM), but that thread was closed without any feedback from the user…

checking for any replies I spotted the typo in PS #4:
> "I was the similar thread…"
should read:
"I *saw* the similar thread…
due apologies.
