New? Used? And connected it to what?
This might seem radical, but you might consider the advantages of

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation. Get the User Manual (at least). Read. Look for
topics like "Specify Basic WiFi Settings", and, if you get desperate,
"Reset". Further reading might not hurt (much), either.

Get the Nighthawk app on a device that's connected to your WiFi. In the app, you can change passwords, turn off certain ones, etc. There is also an option to "auto" or "smart" join, and basically combines your 2.4 with your 5. I caution with choosing this, because some smart products for the home (like outlets, timers, cameras) require the 2.4, and if they're combined, it will throw them off. I would suggest using that feature for your guest Wi-Fi. Hope that helps
