nighthawk android app not allowing me to change names of attached devices

It's very frustrating when they intentionally break something that works. It litterally makes me want to find another brand that will work when you ask it to. Someone at Netgear needs to sch on this or just dump their app all together like they did with Genie app.
Yes, while Genie was not faultless, there are many more interop issues with the Nightawk App and the supported routers.
