The Nighthawk App does not do anything when it comes to establishing a wireless connection - much more, it does call the Android resp. iOS WiFi settings.

This does indicate that either the connection can't be established, or the device is connected to a different network - being the mobile data or another WiFi - and at the end of the day the router can't be recognized as a Netgear Nighthawk device in router mode.

I can connect to the WiFi network using mobile devices just fine, but going to routerlogin.net does not load the router configuration page. All I get is a message stating that I am not connected to my routers WiFi network.

R7000 firmware version? Hope you are aware that the recent R7000 firmware updates were not the greatest - nicely spoken.
I was able to finally access the routers config page after resetting the router. But it kept the new SSID and router password I had changed it to on initial setup. And yes I pressed, and held, the reset button until the power light started blinking.. Strange but all is good now. And both the Nighthawk and Genie apps can connect to the router now, as well as being able to use its web portal.

I am really hating Netgear now as after one week the problem has resurfaced. I should not have to reset this router every single time to get it to work properly. and I did update the firmware last week, so it is running the most current version.
